RollerBoi — Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of RollerBoi (“the bot”) and its web dashboard. By using the bot in a Discord server, or by signing in to the dashboard, you agree to them. If you do not agree, don’t use the bot.
Who provides the bot
RollerBoi is provided by Captain Jellybones as an independent, non-commercial community project.
Independence. RollerBoi is not operated by, affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by RollerCoin or its operators. The person who runs RollerBoi is a RollerCoin player and a volunteer moderator on the official RollerCoin Discord server, acting in a personal capacity. Nothing the bot does should be taken as an official statement or action by RollerCoin. RollerBoi is likewise not affiliated with or endorsed by Discord Inc.
What the bot does
RollerBoi provides community features for Discord servers that invite it: prize drops and competitions, scheduled announcements, a seasonal scoreboard, word and bracket games, and moderation tools — plus a web dashboard where server administrators configure it. Individual features are enabled or disabled by each server’s administrators.
Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, and meet Discord’s own eligibility requirements. RollerBoi contains no age-restricted (18+) material.
Prizes and promo codes
- Promo codes are supplied by the server staff who create a drop and are entered into the bot by them. RollerBoi does not generate, issue, fund or guarantee codes.
- Codes are redeemable on RollerCoin for in-game items, subject to RollerCoin’s own terms. They are not currency, have no cash value, and cannot be exchanged, refunded or transferred.
- Codes are single-use and delivered privately, by direct message, to the person who earned them. If your Discord privacy settings block DMs from the bot, we cannot deliver your code — the claim will be held so staff can re-send it.
- Winning is based on skill or speed — solving a puzzle, answering first, being present for a drop. There is no purchase, entry fee, stake or wager of any kind. RollerBoi is not a gambling service.
- Nothing here is a promise that a code works, is unused, or will be honoured. Report a faulty or already-redeemed code to the server staff who ran the drop.
- Ban Roulette, Chat Drop, RollerCoindle and similar features are run at the discretion of each server’s staff, who decide rewards and eligibility. Disputes about a specific event belong with that server’s staff.
Moderation features
Some features let a server’s staff take moderation action through the bot, and one — the community-vote feature — lets a server’s members vote to apply a temporary Discord timeout to another member. These features are off by default and must be deliberately enabled by a server administrator.
If you enable them, you are responsible for how they are used in your server. They must not be used to harass, bully or target anyone, and they remain subject to the Discord Community Guidelines. We may disable a feature, or withdraw the bot from a server, where we believe it is being used to harass people.
AI replies
Servers may switch on an optional AI Chat feature. When it is on, mentioning the bot or replying to it sends that message to an AI provider (Groq) which writes the reply.
- Replies are generated by a language model and are often wrong. They are entertainment, not advice, and they are not statements by us or by the server’s staff.
- The bot cannot take any action in Discord through this feature — it cannot ban, kick, assign roles, or award prizes, whatever it says.
- Don’t use it to generate abuse, or to try to make it produce content that breaks Discord’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines. Moderators can disable the feature or exclude individual members.
Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Abuse, exploit or circumvent the bot’s mechanics — including entering a competition through alternate accounts to win more than once. Competitions check for duplicate RollerCoin profiles; confirmed cases can be disqualified and banned from future competitions in that server.
- Automate or script interaction with the bot, or attempt to overload, disrupt or reverse engineer it.
- Use the bot to break the law, Discord’s Terms of Service, or the Discord Community Guidelines.
- Use the bot to harass, threaten or target any person or group.
- Misrepresent the bot as an official RollerCoin or Discord service.
Server administrators may exclude users, cancel drops, and configure or disable features at their discretion. We may restrict or remove access for anyone who breaches these terms.
Server administrators
If you invite RollerBoi to a server, you confirm you are authorised to do so and you accept responsibility for how it is configured and used there — including which features you enable, which roles you grant moderator powers, what data you put into a connected Google Sheet, and what prizes you offer. You must handle your members’ data lawfully and honour their requests to delete it (the dashboard gives you a tool for this).
Reporting problems
To report a bug, request a feature, or report misuse or a policy violation involving the bot, contact us at github.com/CaptainJellybones/RollerBoi-Public. We review reports and act on them.
Availability and changes
The bot is provided free of charge, “as is” and “as available”, with no warranty of any kind, express or implied — including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation. It runs on modest hosting and may be unavailable, lose scheduled items, or fail to deliver a prize. We may add, change, suspend or remove features at any time, and may stop operating the bot entirely.
Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for lost prizes, codes, game progress, competition results or data, arising from your use of the bot. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are unaffected.
Privacy
Your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, and the courts of Sweden have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA or the UK, this does not deprive you of the protection of mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence, and you may also bring proceedings there.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The “last updated” date above reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it. Material changes will be announced in the servers where the bot operates.
